From time to time the Trust organises various events to raise awareness of its purpose and to attract new members. These are usually of a social nature that provide opportunities to preserve old acquaintances or make new friends. Lunch meetings too, with an eminent guest speaker of particular relevance to Nigeria, are organised as appropriate.

BNET AGM 2026

Dear Member
Our Chair, David Brandler, has asked me to provide this notice to let you know that the next Annual General Meeting of the Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust will be held on Thursday July 23 2026 in the Hall of India & Pakistan at The Royal Over-Seas League, Park Place London commencing at 3.00pm.
Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, High Commissioner for the Nigeria High Commission to the UK, has been invited as a Guest Speaker, along with BNET Nigeria Trustee and Professor of Education Kabiru Isyaku, fellow and Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE) and Officer of Order of Niger (OON).
It will help us with arrangements if you would use the booking form to indicate if you will be attending or wish to have an apology recorded. As this meeting will again be ‘open’ to the public, there will be a nominal charge of £10 for all non-members, including guests of members attending as a contribution towards the Trust’s administrative costs. Please return the Registration form to our Board Secretary, Elizabeth Dudley, by email no later than Friday 10 July 2026: secretary@britain-nigeria.org
Time will be allocated for questions after which the Meeting will close with light refreshments and tea or coffee. The programme for the day will be:
2.30 – 3.00pm Members arrive and register
3.00 – 3.30pm Annual General Meeting Business
3.30 – 3.50pm Q&A Panel
3.50 – 4.30pm Refreshments and opportunity to meet with the Trustees
Please note that only those members who are up to date with their annual subscriptions are entitled to participate at this meeting [Ref. Clause 13(4) of the BNET Constitution].
